Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS) Materials

Polyphenylene Sulfide, or PPS is a partially crystalline, high-temperature, high-performance polymer often chosen for its high melting point and inherent flame retardancy. One of the most “metal-like” plastics available, PPS is a frontrunner for consideration for harsh-environment applications due to its exceptional chemical resistance. PPS is an organic polymer consisting of aromatic rings linked by sulfides. The synthetic fiber and textiles derived from this polymer resist chemical and thermal attack, making the material ideal for filter fabric for coal boilers, papermaking felts, electrical insulation, film capacitors, specialty membranes, gaskets and packing.
